A Healthy Diet
To keep our bodies running at tip-top form and keep our hunger sated, we need to focus on a healthy diet that is varied enough to encourage us to stick to it. A diet rich in colorful produce, such as tomatoes, brocolli, blueberries, and pineapple, engages our sense of sight as well as taste.
A smart balance of healthy oils, such as extra-virgin olive oil, is good for our skin as well as our heart function. Moderate dairy consumption ensures we get enough calcium and Vitamin D. Using meats sparingly keeps an eating plan interesting enough to stick to, yet healthy enough to feel good about. Spices and fresh herbs can go a long way toward punching up taste. Don’t forget about beverages: Water is the best choice, although juices high in vitamin content instead of sugar can be enjoyed in moderation. Alcohol and caffeine can be a part of your plan if enjoyed lightly. One thing to remember about liquids is how many calories they contain. While it may not seem like it a bottle of wine has many more calories than a Big Mac. Even healthy drinks like orange juice are loaded with calories from the natural sugars they contain and should only be drunk in moderation.
